As per IoT Analytics, in May 2023, there was a whopping 18% increase in global IoT connections to 14.3 billion in 2022. Consequently, the future looks promising with trends like Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, smart cities, and interconnected supply chains shaping the evolving landscape of IoT.
Current State Of IoT
According to Frost & Sullivan, the worldwide count of IoT devices reached approximately 35.37 billion in 2022. About 51% of these connections were associated with applications, such as surveillance, security, and automation.
The remainder of the connections were distributed across various sectors and applications, encompassing areas like factory and industrial automation, as well as fixed-asset monitoring and portable asset tracking.
