Broadcom launched its Emulex 64G Fibre Channel HBAs in 2021, laying the networking foundation required by faster servers with more CPUs with faster and larger memory and PCIe I/O, faster storage devices and protocols, such as NVMe over Fibre Channel, and all-flash storage arrays.
Emulex's 64G FC HBAs provide double the IO performance over the previous generation, making them ideally suited to PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 servers. Emulex also stepped up security with the addition of Silicon Root of Trust: security which is embedded into the hardware itself. Firmware digital signatures are verified each time the system is booted, as well as before installing any new firmware, providing a tamper-proof solution.
