The Hard Parts of Gen AI Adoption with Mash Zahid
Wednesday, February 7th, 2024: 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM EDT
This is our first in-person event since early 2020 and we're delighted to kick things off with IBM's Mash Zahid as our speaker and at the AI Center at MDC Wolfson, our new location.

The Topic:
Generative AI (Gen AI) has the potential to revolutionize many aspects of our lives, but its adoption is not without challenges. This talk will explore the hard parts of Gen AI adoption with live coding and model runs, including:
- Data collection and quality: Gen AI models require large amounts of high-quality data to train on. How do you think about data quality in AI?
- Explainability and interpretability: It is often difficult to understand how Gen AI models make decisions. This can make it difficult to trust and deploy these models in sensitive applications. How do you assess this in practice?
- Bias and ethics: Gen AI models can perpetuate and amplify existing biases in the data they are trained on, thereby leading to discriminatory outcomes. How do you think about data/AI governance?
