Are Your Non-Human Identities and Secrets Truly Secure?
As seasoned professionals in the cybersecurity realm, we often ask this question: How secure are our Non-Human Identities (NHIs) and Secrets? In the fast-paced world of data management, a false sense of security satisfaction can prove disastrous. In fact, many organizations are increasingly aware of the importance of thoroughly evaluating their cybersecurity standards. Are you confident in your current approach?
The management of NHIs, a key component of our cybersecurity concerns, is often overlooked. These machine identities are created by combining a 'Secret' - an encrypted password, token, or key, akin to a passport - with the permissions granted to that Secret by a destination server - much like a visa. The challenge, and indeed the necessity, is to secure not just these identities, but also their access credentials, while monitoring their behaviors within a system.
