Microsoft News, Wednesday, April 23rd, 2025
In the latest "Secure Future Initiative" progress report, Microsoft describes efforts to rebuild its security culture, including making security a core priority for employees during performance reviews and launching a new Secure by Design UX Toolkit.
Microsoft has increased employee usage of multifactor authentication (MFA), standardized secure development pipelines, and adopted new security processes as part of its ongoing efforts to rebuild its security culture.
As of December, "every employee had a Security Core Priority and discussed individual impact with their manager during performance check-ins," Microsoft said in its latest "Secure Future Initiative" progress report. Also on the culture front, tens of thousands of employees have taken part in security trainings and "all 14 Deputy CISOs have completed a risk inventory and prioritization for their product or function."
