AI-RAN Alliance Membership Swells To Over 80, But Telco And Emea Participation Remains Low

The EMEA region lags behind North America and Asia-Pacific in terms of AI-RAN adoption. Alliance Chair Alex Jinsung Choi also strives to correct what he sees as misconceptions about the cost of GPUs.
The AI-RAN Alliance continues to gather steam, recently boosting its membership to over 80, with 80 more in the pipeline, according to a recent LinkedIn post by Alex Jinsung Choi, the alliance's chair. The alliance's website currently lists 84 members in total.
Launched at Mobile World Congress in 2024, Choi said the alliance carried out 10 AI-RAN demos at this year's MWC, as it aims to foster industry collaboration on the adoption of artificial intelligence to improve the efficiency of radio access networks, among other more ambitious aspects.
