In recognition of the emerging data security risks associated with agentic AI, Proofpoint is launching Proofpoint Secure Agent Gateway (available Q1 2026), a purpose-built solution that secures sensitive information flowing into and out of every agentic workflow.
Proofpoint Secure Agent Gateway leverages the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an emerging open standard that's designed to connect AI agents with external data in a secure, auditable manner. Proofpoint chose MCP for its granular policy controls and transparent enforcement. However, we'll continue to track this evolving space as new AI security standards and protocols are developed.
