Wi-Fi 7 just got out of the door very recently, but innovation doesn't stop. It's a given that Wi-Fi 8 is already in the works, but you'll be surprised to learn there are actually prototypes in testing already.
TP-Link has announced that it has successfully tested an early hardware prototype for the next-generation standard, Wi-Fi 8, an important milestone in the development of what will officially be known as the 802.11bn standard. It's still early days and we're not sure when Wi-Fi 8 routers will actually come to store shelves, but it's an important step before they can actually be mass-produced.
