Palo Alto Networks Defines SHIELD Framework to Secure Vibecoding

Security Boulevard, Monday, January 12th, 2026

Palo Alto Networks has developed a framework, dubbed SHIELD, that defines a set of best practices for securing applications developed using vibecoding techniques enabled by artificial intelligence (AI) tools.

Kate Middagh, senior consulting director at the Unit 42 research arm of Palo Alto Networks, said as the rate at which organizations are adopting vibecoding tools exponentially increases, so too does the level of cybersecurity risk.
