SC Media, Monday, February 2nd, 2026
A new report from The Identity Underground reveals a significant disconnect between executive priorities and frontline capabilities in managing AI-driven identity threats, according to BetaNews.
While 54% of executives cite AI-enhanced identity threats as a top concern, only about 3% feel very prepared to address them. Practitioners highlight that basic attacks like credential stuffing remain the most frequent issue, underscoring a lack of tools and automation for fundamental defenses. The report finds 82% of respondents believe legacy identity infrastructure actively increases security risk, and only 8% rely on real-time automated response despite 68% claiming they can detect attacks.
