devops.com, Tuesday, April 21st, 2026

Grafana Labs announced AI agent integration, new observability platform, and Grafana 13 updates at GrafanaCON 2026.

At GrafanaCON 2026, Grafana Labs unveiled extensions to its observability platform including an AI agent called Grafana Assistant integrated with its cloud platform, a new platform for observing AI applications, and an open source framework for evaluating AI agents.

The company also announced Grafana 13 with pre-built dashboards, improved onboarding, and Git-based workflows, while shifting its Loki log aggregation platform to a Kafka-based backend for improved scalability.

Industry analysts note that observability platforms are now competing to become the enforcement surface for AI agents in production, with organizations planning significant spending increases on observability solutions.
