Gartner Ups IT Spending Growth To 13.5% In Revised Forecast

CIO, Thursday, April 23rd, 2026

Gartner revises 2026 IT spending forecast upward to 13.5% growth, driven by AI infrastructure investments.

Gartner has increased its global IT spending forecast for 2026 to $6.31 trillion, representing 13.5% growth compared to 2025 - nearly 3% higher than its February projection of 10.8%. The upward revision is primarily driven by accelerated momentum in AI infrastructure, software, and IaaS spending, with data center systems expected to see the highest growth at 55.8%.

High-performance compute demand and record price increases for high-bandwidth memory are fueling investments as hyperscalers expand AI workloads, creating significant opportunities for companies providing AI-optimized processors and accelerators. This growth trajectory reflects a multi-speed IT market where AI-centric segments substantially outperform traditional categories.
