Why The Majority Of Businesses Are Still Sending Marketing Emails Without Tracking ROI

techradar.pro, Monday, April 20th, 2026

Most organizations cannot reliably track email marketing ROI despite emails generating strong returns when measured properly.

According to Sinch Mailgun's Email Impact Report 2026, fewer than half of organizations can reliably track return on investment from their email programs, despite email delivering exceptional returns when measured.

Among companies that do measure email ROI, 60% report returns above $10 for every $1 spent, with some achieving returns as high as 40x1. However, many teams focus only on basic AI applications like content generation rather than optimization and segmentation, and nearly 18% of all marketing emails fail to reach the inbox entirely.

This measurement gap combined with poor deliverability practices means many businesses are losing significant revenue by flying blind on their email performance, despite the tools and infrastructure existing to fix these gaps.
