HPE launches ruggedized ProLiant servers with Intel Xeon 6 and AMD EPYC processors for edge computing and AI workloads.
Hewlett-Packard Enterprise has expanded its server portfolio with ruggedized options designed for edge computing and disconnected environments.
The new offerings include the HPE ProLiant Compute EL2000 chassis supporting Gen12 servers based on Intel Xeon 6 processors with optional NVIDIA RTX PRO GPUs, and an enhanced HPE ProLiant DL145 Gen11 server based on AMD EPYC 8005 series processors available in May. Each platform includes an Environmental Ruggedization Option Kit for harsh conditions.
The expansion reflects the growing need to process data at the network edge rather than in the cloud, driven by AI inference requirements and latency concerns, with projections showing hybrid and edge architectures will account for 43% of the AI platform market by 2030.
