IBM and Dallara to Advance AI and Quantum-Powered Design for High-Performance Vehicles
IBM, April 30,2026
IBM and Dallara collaborate to use AI and quantum computing to accelerate aerodynamic vehicle design.
IBM and Dallara have announced a collaboration to develop physics-based AI foundation models for high-performance vehicle design, with early results showing the ability to reduce aerodynamic simulation time from hours to minutes.
The companies are working with Dallara's proprietary aerodynamic data and expertise to create neural surrogate models that can quickly evaluate multiple design configurations without replacing underlying physics. Dallara's 50+ years of racing experience provides unique validation opportunities against real-world vehicle performance.
IBM and Dallara are also exploring the integration of quantum computing to further enhance simulation workflows, with potential applications extending beyond racing to passenger vehicles and aircraft.
