NVIDIA Launches Ising Open Models for Quantum Computing

InfoQ, April 30,2026

NVIDIA releases open-source Ising models for quantum processor calibration and error correction using machine learning.

NVIDIA has announced the Ising family of open models designed to address quantum processor calibration and error correction challenges through machine learning. The models include a vision-language calibration system that interprets quantum hardware measurement data and adjusts parameters in real time, plus 3D convolutional neural networks for error correction that outperform existing tools like pyMatching.

Released as open source with supporting datasets and NIM microservices, the models integrate with CUDA-Q and NVQLink to enable hardware-agnostic error correction workflows. The release represents a shift toward AI-based control methods over traditional physics-based approaches, with community response showing cautious interest in potential operational improvements alongside concerns about generalization across different quantum architectures.
