Why Agentic AI Governance Is Falling Short - And What We Can Do About It

SiliconANGLE, Friday, May 1st, 2026

Current agentic AI governance approaches are insufficient; multiple diverse adversarial validators offer a better solution.

Agentic AI systems are becoming increasingly powerful and unpredictable, creating a governance dilemma between allowing autonomy and preventing dangerous misbehavior. Current approaches-including layered oversight agents, strict behavioral constraints, and human-in-the-loop approval-all have critical flaws, particularly automation bias that causes humans to over-trust AI systems.

The author proposes that the best current solution involves implementing multiple diverse adversarial validators using different technologies and operating across multiple layers (syntax, semantic, execution, and outcome) to catch potential agent misbehavior before it occurs.
