Claude Security Enters Public Beta With Opus 4.7 Vulnerability Scanning and Patching

Help Net Security, Monday, May 4th, 2026

Claude Security launches in public beta with AI-powered vulnerability scanning and patch generation for codebases.

Claude Security, formerly known as Claude Code Security, has entered public beta for Claude Enterprise customers with the Opus 4.7 model.

The tool scans codebases for security vulnerabilities and generates targeted patches by analyzing code, tracing data flows, and examining component interactions across files and modules.

Available through Claude.ai and the admin console, it offers scheduled and targeted scans, integration with audit systems like Jira and Slack, and features such as directory-specific scanning, finding dismissal with documented reasons, and export capabilities. In response to Anthropic's release, OpenAI announced plans to roll out GPT-5.5-Cyber to selected cyber defenders, emphasizing ecosystem collaboration for securing infrastructure.
