A new study from Keeper Security reveals that 89% of IT leaders globally struggle to manage the expanding identity footprint amid AI expansion, with particular pressure in the UK where 52% cite AI-driven attacks as a key security driver.
The research, which surveyed 200 cybersecurity decision-makers across multiple regions, found that legacy tools and unchecked AI adoption are widening security gaps, with 96% globally reporting disconnected or poorly integrated security tools.
As AI agents and non-human identities proliferate, 43% of organizations identify AI-related identity governance as a top security gap, while 55% of UK respondents worry about employees inadvertently exposing sensitive information to AI systems.
The study shows that while UK organizations lead in real-time credential misuse detection at 33%, significant investment in AI security tools and passwordless authentication is needed to address these emerging threats.
