F5 announces two new security enhancements for Red Hat OpenShift, including an AI quickstart with guardrails and a WAF integrated with Gateway API.
F5 has introduced two security enhancements for Red Hat OpenShift environments at Red Hat Summit 2026. The first enhancement brings security into AI workflows through a new AI quickstart that combines F5 AI Guardrails and F5 AI Red Team for runtime protection against prompt injection and policy violations.
The second enhancement extends application-layer protection by integrating a web application firewall into the Kubernetes Gateway API model, allowing organizations to manage security policies within the same framework as traffic routing.
Together, these updates reflect a broader shift toward embedding security directly into the platforms and workflows that development and platform teams already use, rather than applying it as an afterthought.
