Leidos awarded $2.7 billion Army contract to advance hypersonic weapons from prototyping to production.

Leidos has been awarded a $2.7 billion U.S. Army contract to transition hypersonic weapons programs from prototyping to production, unifying the Thermal Protection Shield (TPS) and Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) programs.

The contract aims to streamline development, reduce production timelines, and support reliable component supply for operational demands. Leidos will leverage its expertise in guidance systems, sensor technologies, and precision munitions integration to strengthen the nation's hypersonic capabilities and integrated air and missile defense.

The company has served as prime contractor on the TPS program since 2021 and CHGB program since 2019, positioning itself as a leader in advanced defense technologies.
