Leidos, Wednesday, May 13th, 2026
Leidos will manufacture 3,000 low-cost containerized cruise missiles under a Department of War framework agreement.
Leidos has secured a framework agreement with the Department of War to produce an initial 3,000 Low-Cost Containerized Munitions (LCCM) cruise missiles as part of the Trump administration's "Arsenal of Freedom" initiative.
The LCCM, approximately twice the size of Leidos' AGM-190A Small Cruise Missile, features increased mission effectiveness and fuel capacity while leveraging modular design and common Weapon Open Systems Architecture for rapid integration and upgrades.
The company-funded development will lead to production beginning in 2027, with facility and workforce expansions in Huntsville, Alabama and McEwen, Tennessee. The modular design also allows for potential maritime and air-launched variants in future applications.
