SAP announced major enhancements to SAP Business Data Cloud (BDC) at Sapphire 2026, positioning it as the foundational data fabric for autonomous enterprises. The updates include native SAP HANA Cloud integration for multi-model workloads, Reltio's master data management capabilities, and SAP Master Data Governance for embedded AI governance.
New Joule Agent capabilities enable conversational data product discovery, automated planning, and business insights, while SAP BDC Connect for Amazon Athena extends governed data access across cloud platforms without data replication.
