Building the Autonomous Supply Chain
SAP News Center, Thursday, May 14th, 2026
SAP introduces AI-driven assistants and agents to automate supply chain operations while keeping humans in control.
SAP announced new Autonomous Supply Chain Management capabilities at SAP Sapphire 2026, featuring AI-driven Joule Assistants and 60+ purpose-built agents designed to automate planning, manufacturing, logistics, and asset operations. These assistants embed directly into core SAP applications to detect issues, coordinate responses, and execute work across complex supply networks while maintaining human oversight and governance.
The solution includes specialized assistants for planning, manufacturing, logistics, asset management, engineering, and business networks, with phased general availability beginning in 2026. Rather than replacing humans, the autonomous model allows people to focus on strategy and decisions requiring judgment while AI handles high-volume, time-sensitive coordination and manual tasks.
This initiative represents a practical step toward SAP's broader Autonomous Enterprise vision for connected, intelligent business operations.
