SAP introduces Autonomous Spend Management with AI-powered Joule Assistants to transform procurement and finance operations.
SAP announced Autonomous Spend Management at SAP Sapphire 2026, a core pillar of the Autonomous Enterprise vision that uses agentic AI to address fragmentation in procurement, travel, expenses, and external workforce processes.
The company introduced multiple Joule Assistants across the spend management life cycle-including Category Management, Sourcing, Supplier Management, Contract, Requisition, Buying, Receiving, Invoicing, Services Procurement, Travel, and Expense Management assistants-designed to automate routine execution and give decision-makers more time for strategic work.
These capabilities run across SAP's cloud ERP portfolio, including SAP Ariba Buying and Contracts, SAP Fieldglass, and SAP Concur, with deeper integration across systems to connect fragmented processes and provide end-to-end visibility. The approach represents a shift from managing disconnected workflows to delivering business outcomes through AI-connected decision-making across procurement, supply chain, and finance.
