A Playbook to Run an Agent Build Club

A guide to running Build Club, a weekly live-build session where employees improvise platform builds on screen for real-time feedback.
Build Club is a weekly drop-in session where one team member shares their screen and builds something live on a chosen platform while colleagues watch, suggest improvements, and help in real time. The format inverts traditional polished demos by being unscripted, improvised, and adversarial in a friendly way, allowing employees to see actual platform friction and workarounds as customers would.
The session runs 60 minutes with three segments: voting on build ideas (10 min), live building with audience interaction (45 min), and debrief with recording archival (5 min). To start a Build Club, organizations should pick a consistent time slot, create a memorable name, open a Slack channel for ideas and discussion, seed initial sessions with real use cases, recruit an enthusiastic first driver, and establish clear platform constraints to maintain focus and cross-functional learning.
