Open Source For You, Wednesday, May 13th, 2026

Red Hat expands AI strategy with agentic AI, sovereign cloud, and enterprise inference capabilities for hybrid deployments.

Red Hat has announced a major expansion of its open-source AI strategy, unveiling Red Hat AI 3.4 with new agentic AI, enterprise inferencing, sovereign cloud, and governance capabilities designed for large-scale hybrid cloud deployments. The company introduced model-as-a-service functionality allowing enterprises to expose internally approved AI models through governed interfaces with centralized policy enforcement and usage tracking.

Red Hat also launched agent management, observability, AI safety features, and speculative decoding support in vLLM inference server that can improve response speeds by up to three times while reducing costs.

Additional announcements included Fedora Hummingbird Linux for AI-native development, Red Hat Hardened Images for container security, and expanded collaboration with NVIDIA on Blackwell systems and confidential computing.
