Mistral AI releases Search Toolkit, an open-source framework for building production search pipelines with integrated ingestion, retrieval, and evaluation.
Mistral AI has launched Search Toolkit in public preview, a composable open-source framework designed to simplify building production search pipelines for AI applications.
The toolkit unifies ingestion, retrieval, and evaluation into a single framework with a shared interface, eliminating the need to stitch together separate tools and reducing engineering overhead.
It addresses key challenges in enterprise search, RAG systems, domain-specific retrieval, and agentic workflows by providing configurable ingestion pipelines, multiple retrieval options (BM25, dense embedding, and hybrid), and built-in evaluation metrics.
The toolkit has been battle-tested across financial services, manufacturing, and media sectors, and Mistral provides a starter app template to help teams quickly get started with the platform.
