Agentic AI is Driving Rethink of Enterprise Architecture and Tokenomics

Dell's CTO explains how agentic AI is reshaping enterprise infrastructure, data strategies, and workforce dynamics.
According to Dell Technologies' global CTO John Roese, the maturation of agentic AI is forcing enterprises to fundamentally rethink their infrastructure, data management, and operational costs.
Unlike the initial AI boom's focus on GPU training, enterprises actually need far fewer GPUs than hyperscalers - with Dell's largest workload using only 16 GPUs to support 40,000 people - because agentic AI focuses on inference rather than training and requires a balanced mix of CPU and GPU compute.
Organizations must now build knowledge and context layers with vector databases and graph databases deeply integrated into compute, master model routing to optimize costs across different AI models, and address the profound human element through change management as agentic AI transforms every job in the company.
