Breaking Analysis: Personal Agents Light the Fuse as Snowflake and Databricks Move Up the AI Stack

theCUBE Research, Saturday, May 30th, 2026

Personal agents are driving bottom-up AI adoption, while Snowflake and Databricks build Systems of Intelligence as the enterprise backend.

The article analyzes how personal agents are catalyzing enterprise AI adoption similar to the PC era, but with the capability to take action on data and systems. It introduces the concept of a System of Intelligence as the critical backend layer that organizes business knowledge, context, and rules to support both human and agent decision-making.

The emerging AI software stack includes the System of Engagement (front end), System of Intelligence (middle), System of Agency (agents), and underlying data platforms. Snowflake and Databricks are repositioning themselves beyond traditional data platforms to build this System of Intelligence layer, which will ultimately determine how agents reason and act across enterprises.

The article argues that sustainable enterprise value will come from platforms that prevent new silos by organizing personal agent efforts into governed, shared systems with unified ontology.
