Snowflake has announced Adaptive Compute, a new compute option that automatically adjusts resources to match evolving workloads without manual sizing or capacity planning.
Adaptive Warehouses eliminate operational complexity by dynamically allocating compute and scaling queries in real time, delivering up to 3.5x faster execution for DML-heavy workloads compared to standard Snowflake compute.
The system requires only two parameters (Maximum Query Performance Level and Query Throughput Multiplier) and handles resource allocation, scaling, and query routing automatically. This unified, fully managed experience offers significant performance gains across various workload types including analytics, concurrent operations, and data transformations while maintaining cost governance and visibility.
