Snowflake unveils infrastructure capabilities for secure, governed AI agents in production environments.
Snowflake announced new capabilities at Summit 2026 to bridge the gap between experimental and production AI by addressing infrastructure challenges rather than model limitations.
The company introduced Horizon Context, a governed semantic layer that ensures consistent business logic and definitions across data sources for AI agents, BI tools, and applications.
Key security enhancements include Agent Identity for cryptographically verified agent access, Intent-Driven Governance for plain-language policy creation, and extended access controls across Apache Iceberg-compatible engines.
These capabilities enable organizations to deploy AI agents with confidence by providing consistent governance, autonomous AI-specific security, and high-performance data access at the speed required by agentic enterprises.
