Designing Identity for the Agentic Enterprise: The Okta AI Identity Summit
Security Boulevard, Friday, June 5th, 2026
Recap of Okta's AI Identity Summit on rethinking identity for autonomous agents acting across systems in the agentic enterprise.
This GitGuardian recap (syndicated to Security Boulevard) covers Okta's AI Identity Summit at the Computer History Museum, where futurist Heather Vescent keynoted on designing identity for the agents among us.
Speakers stressed the agentic enterprise is no longer theoretical: agents already operate inside workflows, products and collaboration tools, often without clear ownership or permissioning.
The core shift is from the old identity question 'Can this person log in?' to a new one, 'Can this actor take this action, in this context, with this level of autonomy, right now?' Because agents authenticate to call APIs, summarize context, trigger workflows and make cross-boundary decisions, identity can no longer stop at proving who or what something is.
