A Quarter of IT Leaders Say AI Mistakes Have Impacted Their Business

About 25% of IT leaders report AI mistakes have negatively impacted their business operations and bottom line.
A new GoTo and Workplace Intelligence report reveals that approximately one-quarter of IT leaders have experienced AI mistakes that harmed their business, with 23% noting financial impacts.
Despite these concerns, investment in AI remains robust, with 98% of IT leaders confirming their companies use AI and 90% believing spending should be maintained or increased.
Employees report substantial benefits including improved productivity (84%), better customer support (76%), and enhanced engagement (74%), though significant risks persist.
Major worries center on overreliance and misuse, as 70% of surveyed workers admitted to using AI inappropriately for sensitive tasks, while 84% feel their company insufficiently promotes responsible AI usage. Less than half of IT leaders currently have formal AI policies in place.
