Investment capital is shifting from AI model development toward infrastructure supporting AI data storage, security, and compute.
Investment capital is consolidating around the underlying infrastructure of AI rather than frontier model development.
The largest rounds this week went to Supabase ($500M Series F), a database platform for AI agent workloads; DriveNets ($410M Series D), an Ethernet fabric vendor supporting large-scale AI clusters; and Cyera ($300M Series G), a cloud data security firm.
Two additional deals included French quantum startup Quobly's EUR 115M Series A and Folio Photonics' $8M Series A for optical archive technology. Collectively, these investments show enterprises focusing on systems that store, secure, and process data for AI.
