Cohere launches North Mini Code, an open-source 30B MoE agentic coding model for developers.
Cohere introduced North Mini Code, its first agentic coding model, built as a small, efficient mixture-of-experts model with 30B total and 3B active parameters. Released under Apache 2.0 on Hugging Face and Cohere's Model Vault, it targets the sovereign developer ecosystem. Cohere reports strong real-world software-engineering performance and up to 2.8x higher output throughput than comparable models. It supports code generation and agentic workflows with modest hardware needs.
