JDK 27 has entered Rampdown Phase One, locking its feature set at nine JEPs spanning garbage collection, cryptographic encoding, and structured concurrency improvements. A newly formed JDK 28 expert group, led by Oracle's Iris Clark, will guide Java toward a March 2027 release.
GlassFish 8.0.3 delivered performance gains, including roughly twice-as-fast Jakarta Faces rendering and a fix for a critical authentication vulnerability. Infinispan 16.2.0 expanded Redis protocol support with new probabilistic data structures, while Kotlin 2.4.0 added JDK 26 compatibility and WebAssembly Component Model support across its compilation targets.
