A survey finds 96% of organizations use AI in workflows even as vulnerability discovery and breaches rise sharply.
A CensusWide survey of 2,350 developers and security leaders, conducted for Checkmarx, reveals that 96% of organizations have integrated AI into their workflows, with nearly half of production code now AI-generated.
Open source software accounts for an average of 59% of code running in production, much of it riddled with vulnerabilities. Seventy percent of respondents are discovering more vulnerabilities, with 31% describing the increase as significant.
Although 73% rate their application security posture as highly mature or advanced, nearly half of those with highly mature postures experienced three or more breaches in the past 12 months, exposing a disconnect between perceived maturity and actual security.
