Why Endpoint Protection Matters More Than Ever in CI/CD Environments

Developer endpoints are the new security perimeter in CI/CD, holding secrets and sessions that attackers can exploit.
Modern software delivery depends not only on secure code and cloud infrastructure but also on the devices used to build, test, and deploy that code.
Endpoints are the new perimeter because they hold secrets, maintain persistent sessions, and connect remote developers to production systems. A compromised developer workstation can create risks not visible through infrastructure controls, exposing multiple systems at once if access is not properly segmented; a hijacked browser may grant indirect access even without stolen passwords.
A key benefit of endpoint security in CI/CD is earlier visibility into otherwise unnoticed activity, giving security teams context around device health and credential use so they can respond before a local incident becomes a major operational problem.
