Intel Foundry Details Process Milestones and Future Innovation at VLSI Symposium
Intel, Tuesday, June 16th, 2026
Intel Foundry's 18A-P node enters risk production with performance and power gains, detailed at the VLSI Symposium.
At the 2026 VLSI Symposium, Intel detailed progress on Intel 18A-P, the first performance variant in the Intel 18A family, confirming it has entered risk production. The new node delivers 9% higher performance at iso-power or 18% lower power at iso-performance compared to Intel 18A while maintaining design compatibility.
Intel also showcased foundational technologies including gate-all-around transistors and backside power delivery, plus long-term research in complementary FET architecture and advanced interconnect materials.
