Autonomous AWS Agent Automates Modernization of Codebases

AWS adds an autonomous AI agent to AWS Transform that continuously scans and modernizes codebases.
AWS has previewed an autonomous AI agent, embedded into its AWS Transform application-modernization service, that continuously modernizes codebases. Unlike existing agents, it asynchronously executes tasks such as remediating code and analyzing technical debt, scanning repositories against configurable baselines and generating findings within hours.
Embedded policies detect end-of-life dependencies, deprecated frameworks and other technical debt, after which agents autonomously generate pull requests to remediate affected repositories. DevSecOps teams can extend the policies with approved libraries, internal coding standards and custom rules.
More than 4.5 billion lines of code have already been analyzed and modernized via AWS Transform, including Java version upgrades and full language rewrites.
