Sovereign, Open, and Carrier-Grade: What SUSE Telco Cloud 3.6 Actually Delivers
SUSE, Friday, June 26th, 2026
SUSE Telco Cloud 3.6 promotes MetalLB BGP mode and PTP to full support for carrier-grade 5G infrastructure.
SUSE Telco Cloud 3.6 moves two key capabilities from Technology Preview to full commercial support: MetalLB BGP mode for bare-metal load balancing and Precision Time Protocol (PTP) for TDD 5G synchronization.
BGP mode enables proper network-level failover for 5G interfaces such as N2 and N3, while PTP with hardware timestamping provides the microsecond timing accuracy required between adjacent 5G cells.
Built on Project Sylva principles, the fully open-source, community-governed platform offers sovereign infrastructure with data residency compliance. It targets carriers needing control over their full technology stack.
