A senior director claimed it crippled an invoicing system and demanded an immediate rollback.
Investigation showed only three or four phones were affected and the real fault was buggy invoicing software.
The rollback stayed in place, leaving the security downgrade.
The same executive made other unreasonable demands and blamed IT for unrelated problems.
