AWS, Tuesday, June 30th, 2026

AWS launched Graviton5-powered EC2 C9g and C9gd instances, delivering up to 25% higher performance per vCPU.

AWS launched the compute-optimized Amazon EC2 C9g and C9gd instances powered by Graviton5 processors, delivering up to 25% higher performance per vCPU compared to previous-generation C8g instances.

The instances feature DDR5 memory, a larger L3 cache, and enhanced network bandwidth, making them well suited for analytics, video processing, and AI workloads.

The C9gd variant adds local NVMe storage. The instances are available across three initial regions with multiple size options, including bare metal configurations, and support on-demand, spot, and other purchasing models.
