Cloudflare announced the Monetization Gateway, opening a waitlist for a service that lets customers charge for access to any web page, dataset, API, or MCP tool behind Cloudflare.
Built on the x402 payment protocol, it enables pay-per-use compensation as autonomous AI agents increasingly consume web content.
The launch supports Cloudflare's vision of a monetized, agentic Internet where publishers can be paid for crawler and agent access. It gives site operators new infrastructure to turn content and services into revenue streams.
