Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh 3.4 is GA with Istio 1.30, Kiali 2.27, and expanded ambient mode.
Red Hat OpenShift Service Mesh 3.4 is now generally available, upgrading to Istio 1.30 and Kiali 2.27. The release improves ambient mode with sidecar coexistence and technology-preview multicluster capabilities, and adds native nftables support for RHEL 10 compatibility.
Kiali gains a redesigned overview page optimized for large multicluster deployments, and new AI-powered assistance via OpenShift Lightspeed (technology preview) helps users diagnose and resolve mesh issues. The announcement also notes that OpenShift Service Mesh 2.6 reached end-of-life on June 30, 2026.
