Building Future-Proof AI Infrastructure: A Guide to Quantum-Resistant Encryption
Gopher Security, Sunday, June 28th, 2026
Enterprises should adopt quantum-resistant encryption now to protect AI data from store-now-decrypt-later attacks.
State-level adversaries are already harvesting encrypted AI traffic to decrypt later once quantum computers mature, making RSA and ECC vulnerable. The Model Context Protocol is a prime target because it carries proprietary business data and AI reasoning logs between systems.
Organizations can layer post-quantum algorithms alongside classical encryption using hybrid cryptography without a full infrastructure overhaul. Implementation should prioritize long-lived connections and MCP endpoints while building cryptographic agility.
Quantum-safe transport alone is not enough, so application-layer defenses against prompt injection and tool poisoning are also required.
