IDC reports smart glasses grew 167% year-over-year in Q1 2026, led by Meta's dominant share.

IDC's market analysis reports that smart glasses shipments grew 167% year-over-year in Q1 2026, reaching roughly 2.25 million units in a single quarter. Meta dominates with 69.2% market share via its Ray-Ban partnership, followed by RayNeo, Xiaomi, Viture, and XREAL.

Display-less smart glasses are projected to reach 13.6 million units in 2026 and 27.3 million by 2030 at an 18.9% CAGR, with average selling prices compressing from $376 to about $229.

Optical see-through display glasses are the fastest-growing segment, expected to expand from 3 million units in 2026 to 12.2 million by 2030. Google's Android XR and Snap's Spectacles are emerging competitive threats.
